WHAT IS ISPM 15?

It is the standard that regulates the use of wooden packaging materials in international trade, adopted by the General Assembly of the IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) in 2002, of which our country is also a member.

HOW IS THE ISPM 15 IMPLEMENTATION MADE?

Wood Packaging materials are heated in the heat treatment ovens, after the core temperature of the wood reaches 56°C for 30 minutes. It is the process of purifying the wood from harmful microorganisms by keeping it waiting. In each heat treatment application, the values taken from each wood and ambient temperature gauge; It is monitored in a computer-controlled automation system at one-minute intervals from the initial temperature values until the wood pulp temperature of 56 °C or higher is achieved for at least thirty minutes uninterruptedly.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTING ISPM 15 STANDARD.

Users of wooden packaging materials; In export, it is responsible for using wood packaging materials with heat treatment application and ISPM 15 marking in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation. Users of wooden packaging materials, when using wooden packaging materials bearing the ISPM 15 mark; It is responsible for ensuring the quarantine conditions of the wooden packaging materials from the time they are received from the authorized company or supplier until the goods leave the customs of our country.
